After Kami finished her Bachelor of Science in Design in 2002 (The Art Institute of Portland), her career began as a catalog art director and set designer for brands like Pendleton, Nike, and Rejuvenation (a Williams-Sonoma brand). Kami had to be imaginative and resourceful as success in the catalog business meant that every page was a source of inspiration. It didn’t take long for Kami’s work and interests to naturally turn towards designing interiors for residential and commercial clients.
Her experience in styling for catalogs also provided years of exploring a variety of interior styles including rustic, traditional, transitional, modern, mid-century modern, contemporary, coastal, eclectic, and others. This has been invaluable to Kami as an interior home designer as she helps her clients create the home that suits them and not force her design interests onto the process. Instead, she brings her impeccable taste, sourcing expertise, and design sensibilities and combines that with her client’s objectives, budget, and lifestyle.
Kami is passionate about creating spaces that are stylish, functional, and unique no matter what the budget. She’s an expert at sourcing and thrives on the challenge of creating just the right look for the price that fits her client’s needs.
For home renovations, including kitchens and bathrooms, we partner with various builders/general contractors and together, we will guide you through the process of designing, planning, sourcing, permitting, project management, and all other phases of construction.
Recent projects include a redesign of a kitchen and great room for a 1920s Sellwood home, a Happy Valley living and dining room makeover, transforming a dated kitchen in the Richmond neighborhood that was featured as “Kitchen of the Month” in Country Living Magazine February 2015, and reworking a Laurelhurst home to create more fun and function.
